Breasts may lose their old form and shape over time due to reasons such as breastfeeding, weight gain, aging, loss of skin elasticity and gravity. Breast lift surgeries are performed to correct these situations. If the volume of the breast is not sufficient, a prosthesis placement can be added in addition to this surgery. This way, both the sagging is removed and the empty breast tissue is filled so it gains a more aesthetic appearance. In the pre-operative examination, the appropriate surgery for you will be decided according to the condition of the breast and your expectations. The technique and scars used in the surgery are determined according to the condition of the breast. In all of the selected techniques, there is a scar around the nipple stretching down, in some cases there will also be a scar under the breast (inverted T scar). It should't be forgotten that there is no harm in breastfeeding after these operations, but major changes in the breast mass may change the results. Complications are similar to breast augmentation surgeries. Again, if the suggestions for the post-operative period are followed, a relatively problem-free post-operative process is possible.
Breast augmentation has become one of the most demanded aesthetic surgeries in recent years. For a woman, the breast is an indisputable part of female sexuality and aesthetics. Breast augmentation can be performed after volume loss as the body develops as well as to breasts that are naturally small. State-of-the-art silicone implants are used in breast augmentation surgery, whose shape remains stable. In addition to these implants, in some cases, fat injections can be added to the surgery. This should be decided in consultation with the patient. During the pre-operative examination, the structure of your skin, the condition of your breast tissue, the condition of your breast brow, your lifestyle, the location and condition of your nipple and your expectations should be discussed. The shape and size of the implant are determined within certain proportions according to the structure of the rib cage and the measurements of the breast. Among these measurements, the implant that will give the closest result to what you want is selected. Unfortunately, if the demand is very different from your measurements, unnatural and undesired images are possible. At this point, my preference as a surgeon is not to deviate too much from the dimensions that fit the body, as we regret to see that extreme requests usually do not turn out wellAgain, during, your incision, which I usually prefer for augmentation purposes an under-breast scar and the placement of the implant will be decided. The lower or upper brow or the dual-plan placement which uses both should be decided according to the condition of each patient. Although each technique has its own advantages and disadvantages, it is not always possible to say that one is superior or better than the other. Although fat injection is used in some cases in addition to every surgical technique, I do not prefer breast augmentation with only fat injection. Regarding implants, we now use silicon-coated forum stable products. Although there were implants filled with saline in the past years, their use has now been discontinued. Although implants come in a wide variety of sizes, they come in roughly two shapes, round and anatomical (drop). Again, the appropriate form is chosen during the pre-operative examination according to the patient's condition and demand. We make the size selection according to many variables such as breast base, height, shoulder width and skin condition. Even though the used implants keep their structure and shape intact over the years, your annual controls are important in order to follow the changes occur on the breast and the condition of the breast. Implant replacement is not necessary if there are no problems, but it can be done over time for reasons such as changes in your body structure. Remember that our bodies change in ways, even as the implants remain stable. Since the breast is an organ that changes over time and has its own diseases, its follow-up is also important for women's health. A woman who has breast implant surgery should also have these follow-ups. These follow-ups are made with ultrasound, post-implant mammography is not recommended. If necessary, further examination can be performed with magnetic resonance imaging.
THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE THE SURGERY
•Aspirin and aspirin-containing drugs should not be taken starting from approximately one week before the day of surgery.
• You should fast 6 for hours before the operation time.
• It is beneficial to take a shower at night or in the morning before the operation.
• A comfortable, front-opening garment should be available to be worn after the surgery.
During the post-operative period, I recommend you to rest for the first week. After the first week, although you can return to your daily routine, there will be some movement restrictions. Although the process is not entirely painless, oral painkillers are often sufficient. The bra given to you should be worn for the first month, then you can switch to underwear that will not irritate your wound. The softening and replacement of the breast is a process that takes months, and sometimes massage may be recommended during this process.
We take the necessary precautions and perform tests for complications (bleeding, infection, general anesthesia, etc.) that are similar in all surgeries. You will receive antibiotics to protect you during and after the surgery. However, apart from these, breast implants have their own complications. The most well-known of these is capsular contracture. Although the probability of development of this contracture is 2-3%, I carefully apply all the necessary precautions to prevent this. In case of occurrence, a new operation may be in question. In this operation, techniques such as removing the capsule and replacing the implant might be applied. There are no complications that will prevent you from breastfeeding after the breast surgery.
Big breasts may be a result of many factors, but the problem it creates is common to all women: neck and back pain, the load on the spine, skin changes, recurrent skin fungus and nappy rash make life difficult for many women. Although these surgeries seem to be for aesthetic purposes, I think that breast reduction surgery is a very functional surgery. During the pre-operative examination, the structure of the inner tissue of the breasts will also be evaluated and tests will be requested for this. During this examination, together we also decide on the technique, the scars that will remain and the final breast size. With the surgery, the shape of the breast is recovered, the nipple is taken to the point where it should be, the required amount of breast tissue is removed and this removed tissue is stored for pathological examination. In some techniques, it is possible to protect the mammary glands, especially in young patients, but a great reduction cannot be achieved with these techniques in very large breasts. Surgery and the post-operative period are relatively easy compared to many surgeries. You can return to your normal life in a few days. Surgical scars will start to look better within 6 months - 1 year.
Breast asymmetries can be seen in many women and most women have minor asymmetries. If this situation is advanced and disturbs the person, this asymmetry can be eliminated by using many techniques simultaneously. Which techniques to be used and how the process will work depends on the patient's condition.
